Now 102 games into the MLB season the Rangers are 52-50, are 2 and 4 in the 2nd half and 9 and 9 for the month of July.
The question becomes then are the strong performances by Josh Hamilton, Milton Bradley, Ian Kinsler, Michael Young and newcomer, Chris Davis on offense good enough to get through poor pitching to get this team into contention this year?
Every time it looks like the Rangers will really make a move in the AL West, they drop a couple close games or games they should win.
Clearly there is the issue of quality, reliable and dependable pitching.
Then the next question for GM Jon Daniels and President Nolan Ryan is when do they start making trades and who stays and who goes.
Right now the Rangers are 10.5 games out of first in the West and 7 games out in the wild card.
As the Rangers showed in May and June, they are capable of playing winning baseball (18-10 in May and even 13-13 in June), but they have to show they can sustain winning and handle being over .500 and the pressure that comes with it.
That or start prepping for next year... yet again.
What are your thoughts on the Texas Rangers? How can they get a step ahead?
